Committee Descriptions:

PROGRAM COMMITTEE

Purpose of the Program Committee

Plan and implement the educational programs for KyANA. Serve as program consultants to the BOD. This committee holds a conference call monthly and as needed. Staff handles all of the logistics of planning the meetings and contracting with speakers.

Duties: 

  • evaluate past educational activities 
  • select topics, goals, and content for the Spring and Fall Meetings 
  • choose qualified speakers 
  • collaboration with other committees and BOD on events held at the meetings

 

PUBLIC RELATIONS COMMITTEE 

Purpose of the Public Relations Committee 

The KyANA Public Relations Committee assists and advises the Board of Directors in all activities related to Public Relations activities. The Committee annually prioritizes public relations activities for the benefit of KyANA and the association membership. The Committee also assists with articles and advertisements for the KyANA newsletter. 

The Public Relations Committee consists of members that have volunteered to serve on the committee in the fall of each year. Each committee member shall serve until his or her successor is appointed or until the committee shall be terminated, or unless such member is removed or no longer qualifies as a member.


 

GOVERNMENT RELATIONS COMMITTEE 

Purpose of the Government Relations Committee 

The KyANA Government Relations Committee is charged with working to further members' interests by promoting laws and regulations of benefits to KyANA and nurse anesthetists generally. The Committee addresses the range of issues that affect KyANA members, such as training, healthcare funding, and workplace laws and regulations. The Committee will also consider other issues as determined by the KyANA Board of Directors. 

The Government Relations Committee consists of members that have volunteered to serve on the committee in the fall of each year.


 

WELLNESS COMMITTEE 

Purpose of the Wellness Committee 

The KyANA Wellness Committee is charged with developing activities and services for KyANA members that promote overall physical and mental health, chiefly consisting of a wellness event for attendees of KyANA conferences. 

The Wellness Committee consists of members that have volunteered to serve on the committee in the fall of each year.


FINANCE COMMITTEE 

Purpose of the Finance Committee 

The role of the KyANA finance committee is primarily to provide financial oversight for the organization. 

  • Develop an annual operating budget with staff. 
  • Approve the budget within the finance committee. 
  • Monitor adherence to the budget. 
  • Set long-range financial goals along with funding strategies to achieve them. 
  • Present all financial goals and proposals to the Board of Directors for approval. 
  • Create, approve, and update (as necessary) policies that help ensure the assets of the organization are protected. 
  • Ensure approved financial policies and procedures are being followed. 

The Finance Committee consists of members that have volunteered to serve on the committee in the fall of each year. Each committee member shall serve until his or her successor is appointed or until the committee shall be terminated, or unless such member is removed or no longer qualifies as a member.


 

LEADERSHIP IDENTIFICATION COMMITTEE 

The KyANA Leadership Identification Committee is composed of 4 active members elected by membership who shall serve for one year but shall be eligible for re-election. 

The Chair of the Committee is elected by the Committee members. The KyANA Leadership Identification Committee is responsible for: 

  • Conducting the association’s election process. 
  • Adopting necessary rules of the implementation of the election process. 
  • Structuring and selecting recipients of the Gary Jenkins Memorial Scholarship. 
  • Identifying emerging leaders to develop a pipeline of leadership. 
  • Other duties as may be assigned by the Board of Directors. 

Vacancies on the Leadership Identification Committee may be filled by the Board of Directors.
