KYANA SCHOLARSHIPSKyANA sponsors three different AANA meetings each year to encourage student involvement in political issues that impact nurse anesthetists on both state and national levels.
Nurse anesthesia students who would like to apply for a scholarship to one of the meetings listed above will need to submit an online application. Sponsored students will attend the meeting as representatives of the state association. Each sponsored student may also submit a 500-word article and photo describing their experience at the meeting to be included in the KyANA Gasline Newsletter. Meeting expenses up to the maximum limit may be submitted no later than 30 days post-meeting for reimbursement. SANDRA TUNAJEK SCHOLARSHIPKyANA sponsors an annual scholarship through the AANA Foundation for students who are residents of Kentucky. The program provides assistance to students involved in a nurse anesthesia program and CRNAs enrolled in doctoral study. The AANA Foundation manages the Sandra Tunajek Scholarship and selects the winner. For more information visit AANA Foundation. GARY JENKINS MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP – AANA MIDYEAR ASSEMBLYWe are pleased to announce that KyANA will be awarding six scholarships this year for the AANA Midyear Assembly, with an increased funding of up to $2,000 per awardee. This scholarship was created in honor of the late Gary Jenkins, CRNA, to provide an opportunity for students to learn more about advocating for the profession on Capitol Hill and advancing CRNA practice.
